Twitter has stated that it is looking into features such as tipping to give people a way to pay other Twitter users, and now we have more evidence that a tip feature is on the way.
Twitter is developing a "Tip Jar" feature for its Clubhouse-style social audio rooms, Twitter Spaces.
Communities is a feature similar to Facebook groups that will allow Twitter users to connect based on their interests.
“We're working to create a product experience that makes it easier for people to form, discover, and participate in conversations that are more targeted to the relevant communities or geographies they’re interested in,” wrote Twitter.
The feature was described by the company as an extension of its work on topics, which allows users to follow accounts and tweets based on their interests. According to Twitter Product Lead Kayvon Beykpour, communities will be able to set and enforce their own rules "above and beyond our terms of service."
The company did not say when it would begin testing any of these features or when they would be available. However, Beykpour pointed out that the company has significantly increased the rate at which it releases new features in recent years.
